CloudBurst-Prediction-Flask

Overview

This project is a web application designed to predict cloud bursts using a pre-trained Random Forest model. The application fetches current weather data from a weather API, uses this data to make predictions, and displays the results on a web page rendered with Flask.

Setup Instructions

Prerequisites

Installation

  1. Clone the repository:
     git clone https://github.com/yourusername/cloud_burst_prediction.git
     cd cloud_burst_prediction

  2. Create and activate a virtual environment:
     python -m venv venv
     source venv/bin/activate # On Windows use `venv\Scripts\activate`

  3. Install the required packages:
     pip install -r requirements.txt

Running the Application

  1. Run the Flask app:
     python app.py

  2. Access the application:
    • Open your web browser and navigate to http://127.0.0.1:5000.

Usage

  1. Upon accessing the web application, it will automatically fetch the current weather data using the configured weather API.
  2. The fetched data will be used by the pre-trained Random Forest model to predict the likelihood of a cloud burst.
  3. The prediction results and current weather conditions will be displayed on the main page.
